SHiT iFOUND Episode 4

BY Iris Wu
2012/04/18

We have a little tradition here at Dashboard that we lovingly call SHiT iFOUND. Every Friday, we sit around a table with some beers, wine and a bunch of snacks and a member of our team takes everyone through some of the cool shit they found that week. It’s shit that inspires us, shit that makes us laugh, shit that makes us think, shit that’s hot… all that kinda stuff. And we thought we should share it with everyone. So, without further ado, here’s some SHiT weFOUND.

Human relationships can be incomprehensibly complex and hard to explain. This short animation does a great job using simple and abstract visual elements to reinterpret human’s relationship in a lovely and meaningful way.

This song is part of an on-going project, the world remix project, by a musician, Pogo. “The goal of this project is to travel the world in search of sights, sounds, voices and chords, and use them to compose and shoot a track and video for each major culture of the world.”

Leg Hair Typography

A set of typeface created out of leg hair by a Japanese student. The leg hair is manipulated to look like letters of the alphabet, both lowercase and capital letters included. No use of photoshop or any digital editing – only use glue and digital camera.

Les queues de sardines

Les Queues de Sardines is notable for their unconventional and unique graphic style. These elegant and eye-catching tights screen-printed with limited numbers make your legs not to be noticed. as it was in the movie Jurrasic Park : The flap of a butterfly wing in California may atuaclly determine which house the tornado in Wichita, Kansas strikes. You can atuaclly do a simple experiment to demonstrate an emergent system. Turn on a water faucet such that the stream is in smooth, laminar flow. (The water will appear very smooth and clear). Now slowly increase the volume of flow until you see the appearance of turbulence in the flow. If you do this several times you will quickly discover that you cannot predict at what volume the flow transitions to turbulent.Earthquakes are the result of an emergent system.A pan of boiling water is an emergent system (you cannot predict what water molecule will transition to the vapor state.)The electrochemical processes that result in your heartbeat is an emergent system.
