I am an Island

Since being ‘outed’ in a Dashboard blog post as the office’s lone Conservative voter, I’ve felt increasingly marginalized. Could it be true? I knew I hadn’t seen anyone else using their Mike Harris coffee mug, but assumed people left them at home for the whole family to enjoy. Now I suspect  that’s not the case at all. I truly am an island.

So who could I commiserate with? Who could understand my isolation? Who would talk to me about low taxes and all things Ronald Reagan? The answer: those brave and pioneering souls who have dared declare their stance  in that palm-lined bastion of rampant liberalism. Yes, that’s right, the rarest of creatures…The Hollywood Conservative. This revelation prompted me to compile my own Top 5 list of sorts…..and here it is, my ‘Top 6 List Of Potential Hollywood Allies’

Bo Derek – Bo knows: The quintessential timeless and principled beauty.

Lou Ferrigno – The Hulk …strong man, stronger values.

Chuck Norris – no Chuck jokes here, just a solid voter profile.

John Ratzenberger – generally understood to be the world’s most learned postman.

Tom Selleck – Thomas Magnum knew how to wear shorts, and he knows how to cast votes.

Wilford Brimley – He wants to talk to you about diabetes, Quaker oatmeal and the debt ceiling.

So if these Toronto winters (and that McGuinty fellow) do chase me from town and I head West to visit my new best friends, come look me up – I’ll be staying on Pat Sajak’s couch (lifelong Republican).

Pretty good mustache contingent on this list. Except for Derek of course. And we all know the Ferrigs could grow one in ten minutes if he wanted to.

Your island is so manly. When I think conservatives I think cardigans not muscles. Maybe under Stephen Harper's sweater there's a hulk of a man waiting to rip off his Moore's shirt and let his 'guns' out.
