In an ever-changing digital world, there is a high demand for real-time results. Everything from online ad campaigns to digital sign displays at your favourite fast food joint are utilizing dynamic data feeds to make updates easier and keep things running smoothly. For those of you out there with an affinity for skateboard culture, you will be impressed to know that a new scoring system has been put in place. And not just skateboarding but an assortment of freestyle sports such as snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, motocross, entertainment and reality television. This will dramatically change the face of competitions previously judged by panels alone.

ISX™ (Instant Scoring Experience) involves hand-held dials that allow judging panel members to dial in their score which is published in real-time to dynamic displays such as stadium scoreboards. The system holds judges accountable by providing additional statistics ie: preferential treatment/scoring trends. The system also lets the competitors know exactly how they stand and what is required to advance in the standings.

The system was developed by Media-X International. ISX™ had its premiere on August 28th at the Street League Skateboarding Tour. The next event is scheduled for September 25th in Las Vegas, NV.
