Our Dash-letes Go to The Kenya Cup

Big thanks to all who participated in Dashboard’s inaugural entry in the annual Kenya Cup agency softball tournament on Sunday. Our team consisted of 12 of the agency’s most determined hitters and fielders, as well as a special guest appearance at shortstop.

By early afternoon, Dashboard had taken 2 of 3 games, enough to pull us into the quarterfinals. Despite some defensive heroics and loading the bases mid-game, we nevertheless took home a 5-3 loss that ended our post-season run.

As expected, there were standout performances throughout the entire day from all players. Eleven runs crossed the plate, with several players crossing more than once. Notable award winners include…

• Cy Young: Adam Brain (P) – for starting all 4 games and avoiding any errant line drives
• Gold Glove: Chris Obergfell (OF) - for outstanding performance in center field. Extra points for a hot bat.
• Silver Slugger: Shawn “Wees” (SS) – for his wallop that almost crossed Lakeshore Blvd.
• Roberto Clemente Award: Sihan Shi (OF) – for sportmanship by subbing in for another team between games
